Welcome Aboard!

We are very happy to welcome our most recent CMAA Owner Organization Member, the City of New Orleans. It is clear that the City of New Orleans values the importance of supporting a professional organization which promotes the standards and best practices of the project delivery industry that we are all part of. The City is supporting its professionals in Certified Construction Manager (CCM) training, which will further validate the City professionals abilities to apply effective management techniques to the planning, design, and construction of a project from inception to completion for the purpose of controlling time, cost and quality.

Through this org membership, City staff (eg, Capital Projects Administration/PDU, Public Works, Inspector General, Code Enforcement, Coastal and Environmental Affairs, Hazard Mitigation, NORA, Safety and Permits, etc) can join CMAA for no additional cost, enjoying the benefits of full membership in CMAA; these benefits include professional resources such as online training sessions (great for PDH/CEU requirements), promotion (eg, publications, "Find a CM/PM" directory, professional certification and networking/business opportunities.

Along with our first owner members, the Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans, the City of New Orleans staff is taking advantage of the Chapter activities through a strong appearance at our last Professional Development Session and will also be attending in force for the upcoming Professional Development Session on October 31 focusing on the Louisiana Public Bid Law.

We appreciate the support by our owner members and look for support in other areas of Chapter activities as well.
