PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

In this 50-minute session, Mr. Loeb will discuss the use of construction risk audits from the perspective of identifying risk of legal disputed. The discussion will then turn to steps available to mitigate those risks including effective Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR). The goal is to identify and mitigate foreseeable pre-construction risks, and to put into place an effective dispute resolution procedure that can resolve issues within the shortest time possible, and keep the lawyers out of your business.

FEATURED SPEAKER

Steven B. Loeb is a partner with the law firm of Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson, LLP. Mr. Loeb’s principal areas of practice include building and heavy construction, A&E professional practice liability, public bid law, ADA, mediation, and arbitration. His experience includes litigation of complex multi-party construction matters, drafting legislation and standard form agreements for the AIA, and arbitration of disputes between owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, sureties, and design professionals.
Mr. Loeb has also handled complex insurance and surety claims all as part of his construction law practice. Mr. Loeb is a panel arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association, and a Certified Mediator on Americans with Disabilities Act matters through Key Bridge Foundation/U.S. Department of Justice. Mr. Loeb has taught several courses in the LSU School of Construction and the Southern University School of Architecture. He is recognized in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers in the area of Construction.
