PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

BioClean is Forterra’s newest line of environmental products for stormwater treatment. Products range from large object filtration to fine filtration including bio-filtration. Products such as the Watergate are used on existing or new curb inlet structures and block large solids from entering the stormwater collection system. The Modular Connector Pipe Screen (CPS) covers outflows in junction boxes and manholes to prevent large solids from clogging stormwater collection systems. The SciClone is a hydrodynamic separator, which allows suspended solids to fall out of suspension and reduce Total Suspended Solids (TSS) in stormwater flows, increasing water quality. For finer filtration needs, the Modular Wetland uses both large and fine filtration methods including bio-filtration within one unit. The Modular Wetland received Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) approval for use in the Edward’s Aquifer, a large artesian aquifer in western Texas, and provides more treatment capacity in a smaller area.

PRESENTED BY:

Melanie Henderson is the Regional Sales Manager for BioClean Environmental and Forterra Building Products. In this Regional Sales Manager role, Melanie shares her knowledge of stormwater quality products, capabilities, standards and regulations with the engineering and contractor communities of southeast Texas and Louisiana. Melanie provides seminars and plant tours promoting various Forterra products at the Jersey Village Plant in Houston, and in office “Lunch and Learn” presentations on BioClean’s stormwater treatment portfolio.

Before joining the BioClean & Forterra sales team, Melanie worked for a regional precast concrete company focusing on stormwater and wastewater treatment systems. Many of the projects required coordination between the design engineer, contractor and manufacturing facility. Melanie is a member of Texas Public Works Association (TPWA) Southeast Branch and the Underground Concrete Technology Association (UCTA).
